Dear Sirs and Madam,

My brother, Borman, and I would like to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for all you have done for our father, Captain Harriman Willis. While I realise this may seem a little odd coming from the family of a man whose livelihood, ship and liberty were lost as a result of your actions, the things he has done in the past few years weigh terribly on poor father, and I know he is glad to be shot of them. Losing the Vixen has been a blow to him, but again I think he will be better for it in the long run.

My family is not rich, and we have little to offer you in the way of compensation for the service you have done us. If you ever have need of a fast ship and no questions asked, or an eye or an ear at the dockside, then my brother says for you to ask for Captain Borman Willis of the Sweet Catherine, out of San Francisco.

Thank you again.

Yours sincerely,

Charlotte Anne Willis
