Vindication

After he turned down the offer to join the Stargate Programme, Dr Daniel Jackson swallowed his pride and returned to the fold of academia. Privately his convictions remained; publicly he renounced his beliefs, and came back to work with Professor Jordan and Sarah Gardner.

Like most of the other inhabitants of Earth, they thought little of the two bright flares that lit the sky in 1998; not even Daniel suspected that those lights heralded the destruction of two alien starships, and were the funeral pyres of Earth's two most valiant warriors.

Daniel and Sarah were married at Giza in 2000.

Then came the Osiris Jar. A rare and fascinating artefact, the Jar held the potential to prove Daniel's theories more completely than he had ever dreamed.

So here he stood, ready and waiting, with the lovely figure of Sarah at his side. Soon the world would know.

Sarah's face turned to him. "My Lord; we are in position."

Osiris turned Daniel Jackson to face his queen, Isis, restored to him after millennia by the power of the sarcophagus. "Commence the attack," he ordered.

Soon, the world would know that Daniel Jackson was right.

And it would weep for the knowledge.
